How to Export Birthdays and Events from Facebook to Your Desktop Calendar
If you aren't spending all your time being logged into Facebook, it's handy to have your events and your friends' birthdays in your desktop calendar.
Screen Calendar lets you:
- import Facebook events and birthdays to the desktop calendar
- subscribe to Facebook birthdays and events to automatically update and be sure you won't miss birthday of a just added friend or new event
- set reminders for the most important events or keep track of upcoming events by glancing at your desktop.
Here is the step-by-step tutorial about how to export Facebook birthdays and events to Screen Calendar.
1) Select Events from the left side of your Facebook home page. To see your friends' birthdays, click Birthdays at the bottom of the Events page. Click Export or Export Birthdays link at the bottom of Events or Birthdays pages.
2) You'll get an iCalendar link which will allow you to export events \ birthdays to Screen Calendar. Copy the link.
3) Open Screen Calendar (click tray icon) and go to Dates > iCalendar (iCal). Select URLand paste link that you got from Facebook. Important! - after pasting the URL, replace webcal:// with http://

4) Now you can import events to the desktop calendar and\or subscribe to events feed (the same for birthdays) - use Import or Subscribe button correpondingly. Also, after you subscribe and these feed appears in the list of subscribed event sources, you can set auto-update frequency (right-click the link in list).
