To start enjoying the functionality the Flarium-developed Screen Calendar application has to offer, you must go through two steps first. These are two easy steps that will complete in no time at all – I am of course talking about downloading and installing Screen Calendar on your Windows-powered computer.

Downloading the application will only take a moment because the download weighs in at a mere 2.5 MB. Getting 2.5 MB off the web and onto your computer will take very little time, even if you are on a less than spectacular internet connection. To my mind, not having to wait a long time for a download to complete is always nice.

Installing the application will take very little time as well. Just launch the executable you downloaded, follow the instructions presented by the setup wizard, and you will be done before you know it. It must be mentioned here that Screen Calendar provides support for several versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating
system. Screen Calendar provides support for Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista (at the time of writing this and according to the developer).

Once you’re done with these two steps, you can start enjoying the functionality Screen Calendar has to offer. This is a skinnable desktop calendar that has the following to offer:

  • Sync desktop calendar planner records with MS Outlook or Google Calendar
  • Task scheduler to help you schedule hourly, daily and other repetitive events, and to help you set reminder
  • Manage your desktop wallpaper. Set any image as the wallpaper, create your desktop calendar wallpaper, use wallpaper changer.
  • Customize the way the calendar looks with skins
  • Small calendar and large, full screen calendar
  • Multiple calendar layouts
  • Manage your desktop icons arrangement
  • Print desktop calendars and notes

Please note that Screen Calendar is not a freeware, it is only free to try. This means a registration reminder will show up at program startup, the word “unregistered” is inserted in scheduler notes, and a “www.screencalendar.com” label will appear on the desktop calendar after a few days of use. To get rid of this nuisances you need to get a license.

Pros

  • Lightweight download
  • Easy to use
  • Skins
  • Task scheduler
  • Syncs with iCalendars such as Google Calendar

Cons

  • Free to try
